EMD in Ogbomosho, Nigeria is installed and fully operational

NOVEMBER 30TH, 2015

Green's first ethanol micro-distillery (EMD) in Nigeria is launched in the city of Ogbomosho. The installation of the equipment took place during the last month and now the EMD is fully operational. The project, in partnership with the National Bioetechnology Development Agency of Nigeria produces 1,000 liters of ethanol daily which will be used for lighting up clean cookstoves, promoting energy autonomy and higher levels of quality of life.

The innauguration of the EMD had the presence of many important local authorities and concerned stakeholders. After the installation was completed, the Green Team carried on a series of training sessions, organizing workshops with local workers that will operate the EMD. The capacity building phase engaged dozens of people, generating knowledge and safeguarding the best results in bioethanol production.

The ethanol produced in Green's EMD uses locally grown cassava as source matherial. The resource is abundant in Nigeria and by using it for producing ethanol it adds value to agricutlural production, promoting rural development while at the same time ensuring food security.

Check the testimonials of the former senator Ayo Adeseun, the director of Premium Ranch on the EMD and also the steps of bioethanol generation in the video below:
